Providing creative writing programs for young people throughout the Bay Area for the past 12 years has convinced me that grown-ups could also use more time to swim around in their imaginations. That's the inspiration behind my Women's Writing Group, Escape to the Page.
Want a night off from your routine to focus on sparking creativity, generating story ideas, and appreciating the camaraderie of fellow women who love (or want to learn to love) writing? Using the art of "found inspiration" we'll dive into different techniques for igniting creativity on the page. This is a no-pressure, come as you are, writing excursion. (No previous creative writing experience required.)

Come to as many as you'd like to see what "Escape to the Page" is all about.
Your first class is $15. $36 per class after that. Groups take place at a private residence on Main Street.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 510-388-1548 to find out more and to RSVP.
Our next 8 week session will begin in January 2017.
Here's how it works:
We spend the first 45 minutes of each class doing generative writing activities (I call them "Divining Rod Writing Exercises") to access our creativity, stir up our imagination and generate ideas. The rest of class is dedicated to hearing one, or more, women read from a longer piece they're working on and then providing her with constructive feedback.
NEW "Escape to the Page" 9 WEEK SESSION STARTS IN JANUARY AT SANTA ROSA JUNIOR COLLEGE
Here are the dates: 1/31, 2/7, 2/21, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14, 3/28, 4/4, 4/11 (no class 2/14 or 3/21)
Register here beginning in December.
